Mo Muzammal
Mo Muzammal is a Ph.D. candidate in Film and Media Studies at UC Santa Barbara. He specializes in cultural authorship, National and cinema, and South Asian film history. His dissertation project involves the cinema of Pakistan and its relationship with Pakistani filmmakers such as Jamil Dehlavi, namely how film culture and history are entangled between both. In the past, he has explored the relationship between filmmakers and the respective cultures of their home nations, writing on the films of Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Stanley Kubrick, and Terrance Malick. Mo is also a film critic and regular contributor to film magazines such as Indiewire, Reverse Shot, and MUBI Notebook. He resides in New York City and can be found in one of many local movie houses on the weekends.
