Anjum Halai
Professor Anjum Halai is a regional Vice Provost at the Aga Khan University Pakistan. She is responsible for developing and operationalizing strategies to achieve the academic plans and programs and facilitate collaboration among the academic entities, and interdisciplinary cross-campus initiatives. Being the senior academic representative for the Provost she collaborates with key regional stakeholders, including relevant government ministries and enables AKU’s collaborations with other university partners.
Anjum Halai is an experienced educationist with knowledge about higher education and research in the context of low-income countries. Her research interests are in issues of social justice in education due to marginalisation on the basis of language, gender, conflict or other forms of exclusion in education. She also has an enduring interest in researching mathematics education and has led major international research projects in the field.
Dr. Halai was a member of the General Education Advisory Board of the Open Society Foundations New York (2015-2017). She served as an adjunct professor (2011-2016) at the University of Alberta Canada and was a research fellow at the University of Sussex
